Fallbrook, California
Landscape design and build in Fallbrook.
Fallbrook is big lots, old avocado groves, hillsides and long views. It is some of the most rewarding land to design in North County, and it comes with its own rules. You see your yard in 3D before anything is built, and the same licensed company designs it and builds it.

What makes Fallbrook yards different
- Acre-plus lots. With more land, the question is where to put the money. I usually concentrate the finished living space near the house and let the rest of the property stay natural, with paths and planting tying it together.
- Hillsides and decomposed granite. Slopes and granite soils call for careful grading, drainage and erosion control. Walls and steps are planned with the terrain rather than fought into it.
- Fire-smart design. Much of Fallbrook is in a high fire hazard area. Defensible space, plant spacing and ember-resistant materials near the house are part of the design, not an afterthought.
- Septic systems and wells. Many Fallbrook homes are on septic. Leach fields and setbacks affect where a pool, patio or large tree can go, so I locate them early.

What I design and build in Fallbrook
- Pools and spas, designed with the patio and planting around them.
- Patios and hardscape: pavers, concrete, natural stone, walls and steps.
- Patio covers and pergolas, engineered and permitted.
- Outdoor kitchens, fire pits and fireplaces.
- Planting and irrigation, chosen for this climate, plus lawn replacement and artificial turf.
- Lighting and drainage, planned from the start rather than added later.
- Front yards: walks, drive bands, planting and lighting.

Water, permits and HOAs in Fallbrook
Fallbrook homes are served by Fallbrook Public Utility District or Rainbow Municipal Water District, depending on location. Check your district for current rebates on lawn replacement and efficient irrigation.
Fallbrook is unincorporated, so building permits come from the County of San Diego rather than a city. Pools, patio covers and larger retaining walls need county permits, and fire-area requirements can apply to new structures.

What it costs
Every yard is different, so the honest answer starts with your lot. For typical ranges on pools, patios, covers, kitchens and front yards in this area, see what this actually costs, or compare surfaces in pavers vs. concrete.
Every design concept includes an honest budget range for your yard, so you know where you stand before anyone bids.

How it works
- Design concept. Send a few details and photos. You get a layout plan, a 3D view and an honest budget range.
- Site visit. I measure the yard, check grading, drainage and utilities, and talk through what you want.
- Full 3D design. Walk through your new yard, day and night, and make changes before anything is built.
- We build it. One point of contact from the first sketch to the final walkthrough, with pools built by our licensed pool partners and a 5-year craftsmanship warranty on our work.

Questions people ask me
Do you design for large rural properties?
Yes. I plan the whole property, then focus the budget where you will actually spend your time.
How do you handle fire safety in the design?
I follow defensible-space guidance: lower, well-spaced planting near the house, non-combustible materials close to the structure, and irrigation that keeps that zone green.
Can a pool go on my sloped lot?
Often, yes, with the right walls and engineering. The 3D model shows how it sits on the slope before anything is graded.
